ST MARY’S news: Chris Young tells me that the Christmas Tree Festival has raised a superb £1,700 towards church funds.
Not content with this, she is turning her talents to a flower festival on July 13 and 14 with a Rainbow theme, aided and abetted by Fay Farrant.
Jackie Deadman will be co-ordinating the Garden Open weekend and it’s not too early to contact her on 817259.
The next ploughman’s lunch will be held on January 17, at 12.30pm in the Parish Room.
STRONG arm action required: At the Mill Field at 10am on January 19 and at 2pm in the Old Churchyard on January 24.
BASING Beans: Apologies, but the not-forprofit playgroup meets at the Royal British Legion and not the Beddington Centre, as stated in last week’s column.
