CHRISTMAS tree recycling: Now that the decorations are down, take your Christmas tree to the recycling point opposite the school lay-by until January.
Last year, the trees recycled in Basingstoke were chipped and used by the grounds maintenance teams as mulch for flower beds, saving the council around £2,000.
CAROLS at the Manor: Was held on Wednesday, December 5, with around 100 attendees. Refreshments were served and a raffle held with the proceeds going to Naomi House for ‘Jack’s Place’. Altogether, £550 was raised for this worthy cause.
MOBILE Library: The next visit to Oakley is to Kennet Way on Monday, from 10.45am to 1pm.
PARISH Council calendar: The parish council did not produce a village calendar for 2013 due to many of last year’s being unsold.
They are meeting early this year to decide if they should produce one for 2014.
If you have any village photos that you would like to be considered for this, send them to margaretburgess310@tiscali.co.uk or 13 Wither Rise as soon as possible.
