END of an era: Many will be saddened to hear that longtime Rotherwick resident Peter Trotman passed away on Boxing Day at the care home in Aldershot where he had been living for several years.
Peter used to be a familiar figure along the Street, daily walking a succession of feisty Highland terriers (which all seemed to be called Honey!) and was custodian of the church key in days gone by.
The funeral took place on Monday, at Basingstoke Crematorium, and his ashes were interred in Rotherwick Churchyard alongside his late wife Sheila. Reunited at last within sight of their old garden fence!
SATURDAY morning at the flicks!: The good ole days are back in the benefice this coming Saturday, at St John’s in Hook, where at 9.30am they will be screening The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.
Brunch beforehand and discussion afterwards – and it’s free! (but donations for the victuals will be most welcome!). Do come along – even if you’ve seen the film it’s definitely worth seeing again.
