JUMBLE Sale: Still time for that winter clear-out to leave things in the village hall porch before Saturday. The sorters arrive at 10am, ready for the 2pm rush. Sellers please at 1.45pm.
CARNIVAL committee news: Well done to Jo Croombs, who has stepped up as chairman to replace the indomitable Beryl Viner, though Beryl is continuing in the wings.
Hilary Todd takes over as treasurer and Sandie Rice remains the honorary secretary, so carnival day on June 15 is in excellent hands. The senior citizens party takes place on February 16 in the village hall. Details are in this month’s Basinga.
YOU have been warned: Future users of the village hall will be urged to remove any waste generated, as the borough council commences charging for emptying waste bins from April. The new hall bins will be lockable to deter unauthorised rubbish disposal.
CANDLEMAS: This Sunday, at 9.30am in St Mary’s Church.
