REMEMBRANCE Service: The area beside the war memorial was crowded with those attending the service conducted by Richard Elphick.
Richard asked us to remember relatives and friends who have been lost in the two world wars and conflicts since, as well as those currently serving.
Oliver Bartrum read a passage from the Bible and wreaths were laid by The Royal British Legion, the parish council and the Brownies.
Clem Keeble read out the names of those being remembered and Ian Bottomley, from Basingstoke Concert Band, played the Last Post.
Peggy Willson provided musical accompaniment.
EVERGREENS: The Evergreens met on November 6 for a talk on the Basingstoke Canal. It was enjoyed by all and the club looks forward to another talk by the same spea-ker on wildlife on the river.
