A MEAL fit for a king: The Dummer village lunch held on Wednesday, November 15, was a roaring success and an excellent profit of £462.93 was made for the village hall.
A raffle contributed to this. Eric generously donated the wine, and the potatoes for the cottage pie were courtesy of Alastair and Liz.
The delicious meal consisted of cottage pie and vegetables, with lemon meringue pie or treacle flan for dessert.
Many thanks to Jackie Wilkinson and Julia Taylor for organising and preparing this superb feast.
The next village hall fundraiser will be on Saturday, December 2, and will be one of our famous entertainment evenings, with a quiz and more.
Tickets for the supper of jacket potato and savoury fillings, plus a free glass of wine, are on sale in Dummer Village Stores for £10.
CHRISTMAS is coming: The Maidenthorne Singers are practising for various concerts and services.
They will be singing at the Advent Service on Sunday, December 3, at 6pm in All Saints Church, Dummer.
Then they will be performing an Advent concert in St Michael's Church, North Waltham, on Saturday, December 9.
Tickets cost £10, and include refreshments.
