FLASH flood: On Friday, November 17, the heavy rain during the day, followed by more in the evening, caused the Loddon tributary to swell beyond its banks.
The stream is culverted underground through most of Brookvale, but is open at certain points.
Part of its open path is at the back of the houses between George Street and Lower Brook Street, where leaves had blocked most of the onward culvert.
Here it flooded into the ground floor of the houses to a depth of four centimetres in some places.
A resident of Kingfisher Housing Association contacted the highways department at the council to alert it to the high water level.
However, as yet, no one appears to have visited the scene to either assess or carry out maintenance.
In some cases, residents are reliant on their mobile phones, as landlines have become dysfunctional.

UNDERPASS flooding: During this month, the underpass on Victory Roundabout was impassable, also due to flooding.
Despite the flood warning light continuously flashing on the junction box, above-ground on the roundabout, the local council seemed to have remained unaware of the situation until a resident phoned in to report it. The drains were then unblocked and the underpass returned to use.
If at anytime you become aware of flooding, report it to the council as soon as possible on 01256 844844.
BROOKVALE Christmas party: On Saturday, December 9, at Brookvale Village Hall in Lower Brook Street, the community association will be hosting this year's celebrations.
