BASINGSTOKE Horticultural Society: Will not be meeting at the village hall on Monday, but instead will be visiting Hardy’s Cottage Garden Plants nursery.
THE Kancare Coffee Club: Went on their summer outing last Friday. The group was picked up at St Mark’s Church and driven down to Southsea via the back country roads. The driver gave an interesting commentary along the way, pointing out all the places of note. It was a lovely day, the sun shone and there was a welcome sea breeze to keep everyone cool. After a stroll along the promenade the group had a fish and chips lunch at a local restaurant and were then free again to wonder along the beach, enjoying a refreshing icecream along the way.
If you are interested in coming along to Coffee Club, it meets (almost!) every Friday, at 10am, at St Mark’s Church, and is run by Kancare volunteers. Enjoy a chat over a cup of tea or coffee with a slice of home-made cake all for the price of a voluntary donation.
