CHRISTMAS market: There will be a large number of stalls in the Village Club on Saturday, from 10am to 4pm. Get all your last-minute gifts and have them gift wrapped at the stall.
The market will be opened by Katie Clemenson, the young author and illustrator (Winner of Best Emerging Illustrator Award, Early Year Awards 2009) and the author of Box of Tricks and The Magic Box. The official opening is at 10.30am, when Katie will be signing copies of her books.
JANE Austen: The next meeting of the Heritage Association will feature a talk by Elizabeth Proudman about the famous author who spent part of her life in the Hampshire village of Chawton, near Alton, which features, suitably disguised, in her work.
The meeting takes place on Thursday, December 17, at 7.30pm. Christmas cheer served before the meeting.
The cost for members is £1 and visitors £2.
LIBRARY: Children’s day is on Tuesday, December 22. For the under sevens there is a puppet version of the Nativity starting at 3pm. For the over sevens there is Christmas crafts starting at 4pm. Christmas books are now on display.
FAMILY History: A monthly class for beginners will start at the Tadley Library in January running on Fridays for four months at a fee of £20. Call Rowena, at the library, on 0845 603 5631.
GOOD news: Sue came home on Wednesday, December 2.
She is doing well but it will be a long convalescence. She welcomes visitors.
