Hants & Berks Motor Club provides a focus for motoring enthusiasts in the area.
Throughout the year we have offered a wide range of activities for our members which includes monthly club meetings covering a range of topics, quizzes, motoring films, navigational tuition and exercises, classic car displays, a skittles match and a “walking” rally. We have also organised classic car runs, navigational rallies, visits to places of motoring and general interest.
Club meetings are usually held on the last Thursday evening of the month, at The Raven Hotel, Station Road, Hook, RG27 9HS (OS Map Reference 186/725540) where a very nice room has been made available to us. We welcome new, or prospective, members to our meetings. (booking will be required for the February meeting) The Raven can offer car parking, a bar and restaurant. If you are interested please phone the organiser for details.
We are still working on the programme of events for 2013, but we have the beginning of the year arranged:.
Thursday 31 January – Quiz Night – This will be in the form of pub quiz, and will not be restricted to motoring knowledge. The meeting will be held at The Raven. Contact Bill Bonney on 0118 969 7591.
Thursday 28 February – Formula Student. A new initiative in engineering sees students designing, building and running their own racing cars, to meet certain criteria. Two of the students involved will be talking to us about this innovative project. For more information or to book your seat at the meeting, contact Dave Wilson on 07702 742594 or at davanwilson@btinternet.com.
Stages Rally Marshalling – Club members frequently act as marshals on international and national stages rallies, some as near as Aldershot, others on the south coast or in Wales. Specialist training (free) is provided by the MSA. Contact Bill Bonney on 0118 969 7591.
