A VICTORIAN rectory served its north Hampshire parish for more than a century before being sold off by the church.

The hamlet of Nately Scures is the location for The Old Rectory.

The private home is a short walk from St Swithin's Church, which dates back to about 1200 and was restored in 1865.

The Old Rectory was built in 1862 and was sold in 1980 when its last incumbent retired. It became a gracious period home set in more than three-and-a-half acres of grounds, including paddocks and a stable block.

The house retains many original features such as sash windows, open fireplaces and floorboards.

One special feature is a panel of housekeeper's bells in the kitchen.

High ceilings give a light and airy feel and there is also a cellar.

There are four bedrooms, two with en suite shower rooms, and a family bathroom on the first floor.

A study area leads off the hall and there are two formal reception rooms, together with a smaller sitting room and a kitchen/breakfast room adjoined by a utility area.

Three years ago, the original stable block was converted into a self-contained, two-storey luxury annexe with a sitting room, kitchen, a bedroom with French doors to a Juliet balcony and a shower room.

The Old Rectory is marketing through Lane Fox with a price guide of £935,000.
