PUMPKIN Pantos’ summer production of Alice in Wonderland took to the stage of Basingstoke's Central Studio last weekend.
This charming, intimate and interactive production gave Lewis Carroll’s classic tale a unique pantomime twist.
The cast shined in their portrayal of iconic characters. Eliza Holloway’s White Rabbit was a bundle of energy, darting across the stage with urgency. Josh Dixon’s Mad Hatter delighted with hilarious antics and rapid-fire one-liners.
A particular highlight was the musical number All About the Hats set to the tune of Meghan Trainor's All About the Bass.

Ellie Henry was a superb fit for Alice, she captured the essence of curiosity and wonder with her beautiful singing voice adding to the magic.
Adding discord to Wonderland was Stee Leahy as a deliciously villainous Queen of Hearts, commanding attention with each cry of “Off with their heads”.
The script writing particularly shone in a memorable sketch set to the music of Queen. The clever wordplay had the audience in stitches.
Additionally, the twist ending featuring the Queen of Heart’s comeuppance added much hilarity to proceedings.
The production itself was a well-oiled machine with a running time of one hour which was perfect for the target audience.
The puppetry for the Cheshire Cat was enchanting, and the seamless multi-rolling of Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee also deserves praise.
Pumpkin Pantos’ Alice in Wonderland delivered on its promise of colourful costumes, sensational musical numbers and side-splitting comedy.
Those in attendance certainly left grinning like the Cheshire Cat.
