THE London Mozart Players join Sir James Galway and Friends for a special 70th birthday concert at The Anvil tomorrow night.
Sir James Galway is regarded as both the supreme interpreter of the classical flute repertoire and an accomplished entertainer whose appeal crosses all musical boundaries.
To celebrate his 70th birthday, he and his friends bring a delightful programme to Basingstoke, which includes flute concertos by Vivaldi, Cimarosa and Mercadante as well as highlights from some of his favourite pieces looking back over his distinguished career.
Sir James Galway (right) is the most influential flautist of our time and as well as a remarkable classical career, he has worked with such people as Cleo Laine and Henry Mancini, to name just a few.
As one of the most recorded classical artists performing today, Sir James has made himself a legend, a modern musical master whose skill on the flute is equalled only by his limitless ambitions and vision.
Through his extensive touring, over 30 million albums sold and frequent international television appearances, Sir James has endeared himself to millions worldwide and continues as a tireless promoter of the arts.
