MERCURY Music Prize nominee Zoe Rahman will be Barb Jungr's guest at a very special Christmas edition of The Blue Hours at New Greenham Arts on Friday, December 15.
As well as being Mercury-nominated, Zoe's album Melting Pot was voted Jazz Album of the Year at the 2006 Parliamentary Jazz Awards and has been hailed as "one of the most distinctive piano trio albums" (Jazzwise magazine), a "fantastic new album" (Courtney Pine), and "in every way, an impressive sequel to her debut" (Jazz Review).
Appearing with Gene Calderazzo on drums and Oli Hayhurst on bass, this will certainly be among the most electrifying Blue Hours events to be hosted at New Greenham Arts.
Zoe (pictured) comes along following a string of exceptional special guests at the monthly cabaret nights.
Appearing in November is The Communards' Sarah-Jane Morris, in September was R 'n' B legend Carol Grimes and previous guests have included Ian Shaw, Tina C, Todd Gordon and the unforgettable Caroline Nin.
The Blue Hours has also seen the launch of Barb Jungr's last two albums, including her most recent release Walking in the Sun.
