DANNY Bryant's RedEyeBand, plus special guests The Jives, will play at Basingstoke Blues Club on Saturday, December 2.
Performing blues/rock with passion, Danny Bryant's RedEyeBand started in 1999 and today comprises songwriter Danny on lead guitar and vocals, his father Ken on bass and Trevor Barr on drums.
The band are a powerhouse trio led by one of the UK's leading guitar players in his field. Danny's singing perfectly complements his guitar skills, whether he is belting out a raw blues number or a subtler rendition.
By the age of 26, he has already written many superb songs, from gutsy, guitar-driven rockers to beautiful, hauntingly-sung ballads. In fact, his songs are so popular that other performers regularly cover them.
The band's most recent album, Days Like This, features special guest Walter Trout on the title track and is proving to be their most popular release so far.
They play all over the UK and are also going down a storm on the Continent. And in 2007, they will perform for the first time in the USA, having been booked to appear at the Playing With Fire Festival in Omaha, Nebraska.
The Jives are a two-man band, offering Essex-style blues, R 'n' B and rock 'n' roll, who played together in the early 1980s and eventually formed a duo in June 2003.
For a great value-for-money evening, head to The Moose Centre, in Churchill Way, Basingstoke (almost opposite The Anvil), from 8pm. Tickets cost £6 and there is a licensed bar with low prices.
