SILCHESTER Players are putting the finishing touches to their new production.
Hickory Dickory and the Super Bug is a pantomime by Jim Sperinck. As preparations for the New Year are underway in Old King Cole's Nursery land, Green Witch Meantime steps in with an impossible demand.
When this is refused she gets her Super Bug, Virus, (who lives on Silicon chips) and his partner, Seedy Rom, to help her. Tick and Tock, assistants to Old Hickory, Royal Timekeeper, without whom the clocks will not go, are kidnapped and taken to the Witch’s Dreaded Dome. All clocks, watches, and computers stop.
With the help of Dame Megabite, Mouse, and Fairy Sundial, can the New Year ever get under way? And will Young Hickory, son of Old Hickory, marry Old King Cole’s daughter, Princess Coleen?
Performances takes place in Silchester Village Hall on January 25, 26 and February 1 and 2, including Saturday matinees.
Tickets priced £8 adults, £6 concessions, are available from the box office on 0118 981 5600 or online at silchesterplayers.hampshire.org.uk.
