I'M currently studying for my A Levels in performing arts, psychology, maths and English language.

I joined BATS Next Gen in 2010 after watching their 2009 production of Hairspray, the standard of which really impressed me. RENT School Edition is my third and, unfortunately, final show with BATS Next Gen; I've previously been part of the company for Vampires from Space in 2010 and Our House in 2011.

Theatre is my biggest passion; ever since I saw my first West End musical, which was The Sound of Music at the London Palladium back in 2007, I haven't stopped singing and dancing at every possible moment! I just think there's something extremely compelling about telling a story through song, drama and choreography and attending a live theatre performance is always a memorable experience for me. Theatre carries some powerful and beautiful messages, and I think there's something very special about the way it entertains; I've laughed, cried, been covered in goosebumps, cheered, clapped and given standing ovations.

Having performed only in school shows until I was 14 years-old, I was on the lookout for a group in the local area which would provide me with the opportunity to perform in bigger scale shows and this is when I came across BATS Next Gen.

I was successful at auditions for the 2010 show and from then on have been part of the company. Since joining, I have had the privilege of working with lovely, dedicated people. I've made friends for life and I genuinely feel as if everyone is there to have a great time whilst working hard to ensure the shows we put on are of an extremely high standard.

I look forward to rehearsals every week as I love spending time with my fellow cast members and everyone involved in the producing of the show.

RENT is a truly fantastic show. The story is so moving and powerful, the score beautiful and meaningful, and it's a great opportunity for me to put my performance skills to the test. I'm very much looking forward to sharing the work we've done with an audience and experiencing their reaction.

Being able to be part of this production will be a memory I'll be able to fondly look back on for many years to come, something that I can be proud that I was part of.

RENT School Edition will be performed from February 21 to 23 in Queen Mary's Hall, QMC. Tickets are available online at batsnextgen.co.uk or telephone 07754 068545.
