WHEN does a man who leads his country to war become a hero?
The innovative and critically-acclaimed Love & Madness Ensemble present a new production of Henry V at Theatre Royal Winchester on Thursday, November 16, at 7.30pm, which explores the theme of leadership without compromising on the original Shakespearian text.
This contemporary dress production, with a cast of 12, is a stunning adaptation of Shakespeare's intense exploration of the workings of a king's mind.
The classic text is performed in the fast-moving, bold and accessible style that characterises Love & Madness and which the company have developed and perfected over the last six years.
Love & Madness have built a reputation by taking classical theatre and adaptations of classical novels and reinvigorating them, making them accessible to new and especially younger audiences, while retaining the language and spirit of the original in a way that also satisfies established audiences.
This production of Henry V is presented in a manner that relates to a contemporary audience without compromising on the language.
Tickets, costing £12, concessions £10 and students £7, are available from the box office on 01962 840440 or online from www.theatre-royal-winchester.co.uk
