POLICE are trying to trace two men who approached a pizza delivery driver in the early hours of the morning armed with a knife.
According to Hampshire Constabulary, the two men approached the driver in Ruskin Close in Black Dam at around 1am on January 2.
They asked the driver for an order, and one of the men was holding a knife.
When the driver noticed the blade he challenged the pair and they walked away.
PC Michael Ahearne, from Basingstoke police station stressed that the driver was not threatened, but stated that carrying an offensive weapon in public is an offence.
“The men did not use the knife to threaten or harm the delivery driver but carrying an offensive weapon in a public place is a serious offence and these men need to be dealt with appropriately,” he said.
One of the men was described as white, 5ft 11ins tall, in his late teens or early 20s, and wore a blue or grey hoody.
Anyone with information about the incident should contact PC Ahearne at Basingstoke police station on 101, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
