LANES on the M3 motorway southbound will remain closed until the early hours of the morning, police have said.
The slip road onto the M3 at junction 4a remains shut along with two lanes of the motorway between junction 4a to 5 after a 40-seat Dutch registered coach carrying 26 people overturned at 6pm on January 6.
One lane is open but there are long tailbacks in the area. Drivers are advised to avoid the area or follow diversions set up on the A30.
A spokeswoman for Hampshire Constabulary said: "Drivers are advised to avoid the area if possible or use the diversions that are in place.
"It's estimated that it will be the early hours before the motorway is completely reopened."
Police report that eight people have been taken to hospital. One person has suffered a suspected broken bone, and the others taken to hospital were not seriously injured.
