SIX vehicles were broken into in Kempshott last weekend.
In the early hours of January 5, a laptop was stolen from a car parked in Iris Close, tobacco was taken from a van parked in Kempshott Lane and a handbag containing £250 in cash and a digital camera with family pictures was stolen from a car parked in Brambling Close.
Overnight on January 6 and 7, another three cars were broken into and two handbags were stolen from cars in Kempshott Lane, and a hedge cutter was taken from a car in Blackbird Close.
PC Dave Cook said: “We believe there may have been someone walking around the area of January 5, looking into vehicles with a torch. Did you see anything suspicious?
“Please don’t leave valuables in your car which may attract opportunist thieves. Even if you are just leaving your vehicle for a short time, take everything with you and make sure everything is secure.”
Anyone with information should contact PC Cook at Basingstoke police station on 101.
