HE IS hoping to wear women’s clothes for a fortnight in aid of charity.

Tadley man James Bodin, 22, donned a dress, blonde wig, make-up and accessories to raise cash for Practical Action on Thursday.

He will continue to dress as a woman for an extra day for each £100 he raises and if he reaches his target of £1,000 he has pledged to remain dressed in a dress for a full 14 days.

He even had a full body wax in preparation for the transformation.

James, of Fairlawn Road, is no stranger to charity fundraising, and last year raised money for Practical Action by cycling from London to Paris, and climbing the summit of Kilimanjaro.

He is leading a team of 18 students from the University of Portsmouth, where he is in his third year studying civil engineering, to South America to trek the Inca Trail for the charity.

Each member of the team has to raise £2,850 for the national charity, which uses technology to challenge poverty in third world countries.

James said he hopes to hit his first £1,000 target. He said: “I will probably be dressed as a woman for a couple of weeks. I plan to organise some crazy events and hopefully give everyone some laughs and fun while raising loads of money.”

He will be doing his weekly shop, playing football and attending lectures in drag and will continue to fundraise later in the year to hit his target before the trek, from August 16 to August 31.
