NEW ticket machines have been installed at the main terminal for Basingstoke commuters.
South West Trains spent £200,000 on 14 new collection-only ticket machines, some of which have been installed at London Waterloo.
Passengers can buy their tickets online before collecting them from the machines, using the credit or debit card they used for the booking.
Paul Chick, head of IT applications for Stagecoach, said: “We have already invested heavily to install additional ticket machines at our key stations and at Waterloo in particular as it is such a busy station.
“With many passengers now choosing to buy their tickets through our website, we wanted to provide even easier access to passengers simply wanting to collect their pre-booked tickets and who don’t necessarily need to use one of our full service ticket machines.”
The other stations where the machines have been installed are Bournemouth, Clapham Junction, Southampton Airport and Southampton.
