THE Met Office has predicted that more snow is on the way this afternoon.
Forecasts show there will be light snow from around 4pm, which is likely to turn to heavy snow across the town by 6pm.
The snow is likely to ease overnight, but come down more heavily again at around 5am or 6am tomorrow morning, which could impact on travel on Wednesday. It is expected there will be up to 5cm of fresh snow.
Hampshire County Council is continuing to grit priority one and two routes, which include bus routes and roads leading to schools. Motorists are advised to drive with care, because of snow and slush still on the roads.
The borough council’s operations team has gritted all council owned car parks, the Top of The Town, the link between The Malls and the railway station and the Leisure Park. Extra bin crews are out today, to catch up with those missed on Monday. Those living along rural routes will not receive a glass collected today.
