A POT of £25,000 for community projects is up for grabs and borough residents have their chance to say who should get a share of it.
The initiative, funded by Hampshire County Council, is being run by Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council in partnership with Basingstoke Voluntary Services.
Community groups have already applied for the money and the idea is that residents have the chance to see information on the various projects and vote for the ones they think should get funding in their area.
The minimum grant is £200 and the maximum is £1,000.
The ballots for, each area, will be held at: · Tadley Community Centre in Newchurch Road on Tuesday, February 5, from 2pm until 8pm.
· The Civic Offices, London Road, Basingstoke, on Wednesday, February 6, from 2pm until 8pm.
· The Gill Nethercott Centre, Winchester Road, Whitchurch on Thursday, February 7, from 2pm to 8pm.
The council's Cabinet Member for Communities, Sport and Culture Cllr Elaine Still said: “The applications from borough community groups are fantastic and now it's a real chance for residents to have a say.”
