VANDALS wreaked havoc at Popham Airfield after breaking into buildings on the site.
At around 11pm on January 27 the offenders forced their way into various buildings including the clubhouse and an aircraft hangar, where they smashed items, threw food, set off fire extinguishers and sprayed graffiti on aircraft. They also stole tools, televisions, various equipment, charity boxes and items which had sentimental value to members of the club.
Police have now released CCTV images in the hope of catching the criminals responsible for the damage. PC Matt Deery said: “These offenders have caused a huge amount of damage to aircraft, business premises and the clubhouse at the airfield.
“This mindless damage has left many people with a large clean-up bill and resulted in the loss of lots of essential tools and equipment.
“If you know anything about this incident or recognise anyone from the CCTV images, please contact me. Equally if you are offered any such tools or equipment for sale in suspicious circumstances, please contact the police.”
Anyone with information should call Whitchurch police station on 101.
