A BASINGSTOKE-based housing association is hosting a series of community brainstorming sessions to help shape a major new housing development.

Sentinel Housing Association will hold three consultations to get feedback about how it should regenerate the former Eli Lilly industrial site, in Kingsclere Road.

Sentinel plans to build 500 homes on the 10-hectare former Lilly and Liverpool Victoria sites, which they bought last year. The consultations will help to shape a future planning application.

A Sentinel spokeswoman said: “We are taking a step back. What we are saying is we have got this land and we want to do something with it – what do you want to see done?”

In December, the first glimpses of how Sentinel would regenerate the land were revealed in a preliminary scoping report.

The report said that 500 “high-quality” homes would be built.

The report also suggested a care home could be built on site, and new pedestrian and cycle routes would be built to and from the development.

The informal drop-in sessions will be held at Sentinel’s offices in Kingsclere Road today from 3pm to 8pm, Friday February 1, from 1pm to 5pm, and on Saturday February 2, from 10am to 1pm.
