ANGRY residents took to the streets again to protest about drivers speeding through their village.
Last Friday, more than 100 parents, councillors and neighbours marched from Pyotts Hill to Old Basing Infant School.
This follows the success of a similar protest on November 3.
Jacqui Savage, who has lived in Hatch Lane for three years, said: "The villagers have again surprised us with their depth of feeling about this matter. It really does show that they want something done."
Mrs Savage, 42, who started the campaign, wants a 20mph speed limit near the school and other traffic-calming measures imposed along the roads of Old Basing.
Margaret Adams, of Fairthorne Rise, Old Basing, believes that larger signs would make a difference.
She said: "I wouldn't say it would solve the problem, as there are a lot of maniacs going about who won't listen to anything, but I think the signs have got to be a lot bigger and more open."
Highways chiefs at Hampshire County Council say they have been investigating what is feasible to improve travel to school for young children in Old Basing.
Residents are planning another march along The Street, in Old Basing, on Friday, November 24, and plan to send a petition to the county council.
Anyone with any suggestions about how to help the traffic problems in the village can send an e-mail to oldbasingtraffic@yahoo.co.uk
