A MEETING in which the public can tell members of Hampshire County Council what they think of the road system is to be held in Basingstoke.
A number of Hampshire Action Teams (HATs) have been set up by the county council to identify any issues or priorities members of the public have.
At the meeting, the provision of highways services in Basingstoke and Deane will be the main focus, with the team monitoring and reviewing the progress of highway maintenance and improvement schemes in the area and offering advice and recommendations on future highways activities.
The HATs consist of the county councillors from each area and the first public meeting of the Basingstoke and Deane team will be held at the Haymarket Theatre, Wote Street, at 3pm on December 1.
Councillor Ken Thornber, leader of Hampshire County Council, said: "The county council is responsible for the delivery of a wide range of services that are vital for the well-being of the people who live in Hampshire, such as schools, care services, roads, waste disposal, libraries and museums.
"The HATs will help us to get even closer to Hampshire's communities, so, where possible, we can shape the county council's priorities and services around local needs."
