SOME dates for your diary in the run-up to Christmas:
- Christmas bazaar - On Saturday, at Church Cottage, from 11am to 3pm, you can buy your cards and presents from a variety of stalls. Help Age Concern and other local charities raise funds by trying your luck at our giant tombola, visit Father Christmas, or enjoy a mince pie and cup of tea. There is a small entry charge for adults and everyone is welcome. The Age Concern Christmas raffle will be drawn at 2.30pm.
- Computers at the cafe - On Wednesday, November 29, from 10.30am to 12.30pm, at Church Cottage, we will be offering the over-50s the chance to e-mail family and friends with Christmas greetings. Many thanks to Brillbox Systems for their support.
- Charity fayre - On Thursday, December 7, Age Concern will have two stalls at the Top of the Town - a great tombola and a refreshment stall, offering hot drinks and homemade cakes. The event runs from 10am to 4.30pm.
- Christmas tea dance - At Popley Fields Community Centre on Friday, December 8, from 2pm to 5pm. Music arranged by Mick McCracken-Marsh. Tickets available in advance from Age Concern for £4 (£5 on the door).
- Cafe Christmas party - Wednesday, December 13, 10.30am to 1pm. Music all morning, including singing from Fairfields schoolchildren at 11am. Free raffle ticket with each purchase.
