EMPLOYERS from across Hampshire came to Basingstoke for the borough's first employment open day for black people and ethnic minorities.
Organisations including Basingstoke College of Technology, Festival Place shopping centre and Eastleigh Borough Council gave advice about job opportunities.
More than 100 people representing eight different ethnic groups turned up at the event, which was held at Carnival Hall, in Basingstoke.
Visitors had the opportunity to learn about CV writing, interview techniques, how to start their own businesses and their employment rights, as well as meeting local employers and finding out about current vacancies.
Councillor Elaine Still, the council's Cabinet member for environment and community services, said: "The feedback from the event has been very good and we hope to plan more of these events in the future to celebrate our diverse community."
