A BARBECUE caught fire during an event at Basingstoke Golf Club.
The small fire took place at 6.29pm yesterday evening, at the golf club off Winchester Road, Beggarwood. Two fire crews and the special equipment unit were at the scene for 30 minutes.
Crew manager Dave Allen said there may have been a fault with the hose connecting a gas canister and the barbecue that caused it to catch fire.
Damage was caused to the barbecue, a sun canopy and a clubhouse window. No-one was injured.
