GARY Choppen (Gary Cee) has been around the local music scene for a long time.
He was keyboard player in Basingstoke favourites Papa Brittle, and has been DJing around the town since 1989.

He also compiles and presents a weekly podcast show called The Scene where he showcases what’s been happening in the local live music scene.
1. Who was your childhood hero and why? I did like Clint Eastwood in the Dirty Harry films, so possibly him.
2. What is your most precious possession, and why is it important to you? My family. I didn’t think that way when I was younger but as I’ve got older, I’ve appreciated them much more.
3. What was the first record/CD you bought? I was doing a paper round when I was a kid and went out and bought You're The One That I Want by John Travolta and Olivia Newton John. First CD would be Replicas by Tubeway Army.
4. What is the radio/television show you hate to miss? With technology the way it is now, it is almost impossible to miss any TV or radio because you can record it or series link it.
5. What is your favourite film? Blade Runner.
6. What is your pet hate? Bad manners, rudeness and people judging you on the way you look or prejudging you before they’ve met you.
7. What are you reading at the moment? I’m about halfway through Anthony Keidis’ Red Hot Chili Peppers.
8. If you were choosing a last meal, what would it be? A roast chicken dinner with the full works but please no parsnips.
9. If you could meet anyone from history, who would it be? I would like to have a sit down with Marc Bolan. I’ve seen old interviews with him and I think he’d be interesting.
10. If you had a time machine where would it take you? Back to 1977 so I could go and see the Sex Pistols play. I was only nine at the time and too young to go to any gigs.
11. If you were stranded on a desert island, what luxury would you choose to have with you? A solar-powered media player so that I could play my music!
12. What sports team do you support? West Ham United.
13. What was your first job? My first proper job was as a window fabricator.
14. If you could take over someone’s job for the day, whose job would you choose? I’m more than happy doing the job I do.
15. What worries you the most? Where do I start? I am a born worrier. I worry about everything.
16. What is your proudest moment? Probably getting the courage together to ditch my office job and become self-employed.
17. What would you like your epitaph to be? “Sorry, I’m not taking requests now....”
18. What’s your guilty pleasure? I couldn't possibly divulge that information!
19. What one thing could change society for the better? Far too many people seem to go for the easy option, and that’s because the Government seem to hand them stuff on a plate.
20. What three words best describe you? Talkative, trustworthy, overweight.
