UPDATE: Katelan Spooner was found safe and well, police announced on Tuesday morning, May 3.
POLICE have launched a hunt for a missing Hampshire schoolgirl.
Officers have issued an appeal to help find 15-year-old Katelan Spooner.
The youngster was last seen leaving her home address in Fleet at around 10.20am yesterday.
But officers say she has friends in the Winchester, Eastleigh and Southampton areas.
Katelan is described as: around 5ft 1ins, of slim build and with bright red dyed hair.
She was last seen wearing a red hooded top and blue jeans with white marks on.
Sergeant Jennifer Lovegrove of Hampshire Police said: “When Katelan left her home she told her family that she was going to see a friend.
"However, she didn’t turn up at that friends house and her family haven’t heard from her since.
"We know that she has friends in the Winchester, Eastleigh and Southampton areas, so there is a possibility she is with them.
"If you know where Katelan is or you think you’ve seen her, please get in touch with us."
And Sgt Lovegrove send a message to the teenager. She said: “Katelan, if you see this, please get in touch with us or your family to let us know you are ok.”
Anyone with information should contact Hampshire Constabulary on 101.
