HUNDREDS of Star Wars fans flocked to see a new exhibition in Basingstoke.
May The Toys Be With You opened at the Willis Museum on Saturday 13 January, with one of the UK’s finest collections of vintage Star Wars toys and original cinema posters.
Visitors could check out items ranging from lightsabers to models of X-Wings.
To help bring the Force to the exhibition, members of the Joker Squad Star Wars Costume Group dressed as iconic characters from the films.
Collector and curator behind the exhibition, Matt Foxx, said: “I’ve collected some really nice new pieces over the past months that will be shown to the public for the first time at The Willis Museum, including a pair of original A4-sized transparencies used to create the posters and print ads from the first Star Wars 1977 that look like stained glass, as well as cast and crew tickets to the first UK showings of each of the three original films.
“These are rare, and even unique, objects that people wouldn’t be able to see anywhere else.”
The exhibition will be running at the Willis Museum until April 14, 2018.
Admission is free, but donations are welcome.
