NEWLY-qualified and experienced nurses interested in working at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust are being invited to attend a special recruitment event.
A number of opportunities are available for nurses who would like to work in the acute assessment unit at Basingstoke hospital.
Nurses who are interested in working at the acute assessment unit are being invited to attend a recruitment fair being held at The Ark, Basingstoke hospital, from 10am on Wednesday, 21 March.
Sarita Kataria-Julka, clinical matron on the unit, where patients are assessed before being admitted to the most appropriate ward for their medical needs, said: “No two days are ever the same when you work in the acute assessment unit because of the variety of patients we see.
“Working in the unit gives nurses a fantastic grounding, setting them up for a career in the emergency department, intensive care or any number of medical specialties.”
Sarita, who as a clinical matron, spends the majority of her time working clinically, passing on her skills to the next generation of nurses, added: “I’m really looking forward to this event and meeting nurses who, like the rest of the team, are passionate about patient care.
“People coming along will get the chance to look around the unit, hear about the training we offer our nurses, talk about how they would like to progress their careers and much more. There will even be the opportunity to have an interview and secure a conditional offer on the day.”
