FIREFIGHTERS spent more than two hours tackling flames which could be seen from across Hook.
Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to a fire at a scrapyard in Totters Lane, Winchfield at 7.12pm yesterday (Tuesday, 5 June).
Once on the scene firefighters reported that eight heavy goods vehicles had caught fire and the flames had spread across a large area of the yard.
Crews from Hartley Wintney, Rushmoor, Fleet and Alton attended the incident using six breathing apparatus, three jets and two hose reels to extinguish the fire.
It is unclear as to what caused the fire at this time, but a fire investigation team were on the scene and will continue to look into the circumstances of the fire.
Firefighters received the stop message at 9.29pm last night, however a crew from Hartley Wintney returned to the site at 2.15am this morning to inspect any hotspots and there were no signs of aggravation.
