A RIBBON ‘flinging’ ceremony was held to mark the much-anticipated re-opening of a Whitchurch heritage site on Saturday.
Whitchurch Silk Mill opened its doors to keen visitors and families who were the first to see the venue’s £1.7 million revamp.
The historic site had 12 of its team members present for the milestone moment, and they were pleased with the positive response and attraction.
Operations manager Jess Bone said: “It went really well, lots of people, we had a really good day with really positive feedback.
“I think it is still work in progress it is not completely finished but it’s all been worth it and it’s all been really positive from what we have done attracting a wider range of people.”
Mill bosses now hope to engage more families and children with their interactive educational extras, and have already got promising interest for upcoming events such as a Halloween Spooktacular and a wire lace workshop.
Since the opening, the team has been “flat out” all day with visitors, and an official opening is due to take place in spring.
