A CHOIR is ready to raise the roof in aid of Ark Cancer Centre Charity
On Sunday, 26 May members of Basingstoke Hospital Male Voice Choir (BHMVC) will be holding their latest fundraising event for the cause.
All Saints Church, in Southern Road, Basingstoke, will be the venue for a concert which will feature the singing of BHMVC and also the Mansfield Male Voice Choir, which is on an anniversary tour.
The concert, which is free to attend, will take place between 3pm and 5pm, and there will be a collection in support of Ark.
Ark Cancer Centre Charity trustee Merv Rees, who is also president of BHMVC, said: “BHMVC are great supporters of Ark and have been involved in events that have raised thousands of pounds for the charity.
“This will be another wonderful concert, and I am grateful to both choirs for putting on this event. I am sure it will be well-supported, and thanks to everyone who contributes to the collection.”
Ark’s £5m appeal will ensure a range of support services and complementary therapies are available alongside chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatments in a new NHS cancer treatment centre.
The centre, which will largely be funded by Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, is set to be located on the Basingstoke hospital site.
