STUDENTS at a Basingstoke secondary school has been championing the importance of physical education.
Bishop Challoner Catholic Secondary School was one of thousands of schools across the UK which took part in Youth Sport Trust’s National School Sport Week.
The annual celebration is co-ordinated by children’s charity the Youth Sport Trust to highlight the important role of Physical Education and school sport in education.
Basingstoke MP Maria Miller praised the school for putting a focus on PE when she visited.
Chris Sheers, curriculum leader for PE at the St Michaels’ Road school, said: “At Bishop Challoner we believe it is very important that every pupil has the opportunity to lead active, healthy lifestyles. We’re delighted that Maria Miller visited to see the work we are doing to promote PE.”
