FIVE people have been arrested in connection with an attack which hospitalised a man on Halloween.
As previously reported in the Gazette a 31-year-old man was attacked between 10.30pm and 10.53pm on October 31 where he sustained life threatening injuries.
When police arrived at the scene the victim was found in the garden of a property in Gershwin Road, Brighton Hill.
Two men in their 30s from Basingstoke and three men in their 20s – two from Basingstoke and one from Middlesex have been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder.
The victim remains in hospital where his injuries are currently described as life changing.
At the time of the incident a 58-year-old man from Basingstoke, also received hospital treatment after being sprayed with an unknown substance. His injuries were not believed to be serious.
If anyone has any further information about the incident which would aid the police’s investigation they are asked to call 101, quoting Operation Enhance.
