A MAN has been arrested following an attack in Basingstoke that left the victim hospitalised.
Police say they were called to Queen’s Road at 9.11pm last night (Saturday) after reports of an assault.
A man has been taken to Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A 30-year-old man from Basingstoke has been arrested on suspicion of GBH with intent. He remains in custody at this time.
Officers remain at the scene and say they are in the early stages of an investigating.
One witness reported seeing four police cars and two ambulances at the scene of the incident last night.
The victim was said to be seen lying on the floor bleeding as on-lookers tried to help him.
The ambulance service has been contacted for further comment.
