A MAN arrested on suspicion of stabbing someone has been released on bail following an incident in King’s Furlong.
As previously reported in the Gazette, emergency services were called to Queen’s Road on Saturday night after a man in his 20s was attacked with a knife.
The incident took place at around 9.11pm on Saturday. The victim was taken to Basingstoke hospital for treatment.
An eyewitness told the Gazette that the victim was said to be seen lying on the floor bleeding as on-lookers tried to help him.
There were initially rumours that the man had been stabbed, which the police have now confirmed.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said: “I can confirm that the victim in the incident has sustained knife related injuries.”
The 30-year-old from Basingstoke, has been released on bail after he was arrested on suspicion of GBH with intent.
