Maria Miller has been re-elected as the member of parliament to serve the reisdents of Basingstoke.
The Conservative politician, who was first elected in 2005, has won with 29,593 votes.
Taking to the stage after the vote was announced, Maria thanked the public for their support as well as her team.
She said it was ‘clear’ that residents of the town had made a choice. She said: ‘Not just a choice about how they want Basingstoke to run but people want to get Brexit done. WE want to tackle the things that matter.’
Maria continued: ‘The decision has been made loud and clear. I’d like to thank the people of Basingstoke, I am very grateful for the opportunity.’
