THE Basingstoke branch of Patisserie Valerie has been graded as one out of five for its hygiene.
The branch in Festival Place was visited by hygiene inspectors last month, who found 'major improvement' was needed to the management of food safety.
The cleanliness and condition of the facilities and building were deemed to be 'generally satisfactory' while hygienic food handling was said to need improvement.
The cafe, which sells fresh cakes and pastries, opened the branch in Basingstoke in 2017.
The chain was reported as having financial difficulties in January last year, but was later rescued from adminstration.
Patisserie Valerie has been asked for a comment.
As of Friday, the bakery was still displaying it's 'five out of five' food rating sticker.
