A councillor has refused to comment on Basingstoke Town Football Club’s plight.
Cllr Nicholas Robinson declined to comment further on the matter ahead of the vote on the club’s future in Basingstoke expected in the next few weeks.
The member of the Development Control committee, which will be deciding the fate of the Camrose ground, told the Gazette: “I don’t know what I’m talking about, leave me out of it” despite the growing issue hitting the screens nationwide this month.
This comes after the Gazette launched their recent campaign ‘Two Stadiums not One’ to bring Basingstoke football back to the town with a new like-for-like stadium established.
Various members of Basingstoke and Dean Borough Council (BDBC) have been criticised this week over their opinion on the historic ground.
BDBC Cllr Robinson instead referred the reporter onto fellow councillor and cabinet member for homes and families, Tristan Robinson.
The Gazette has reached out to Tristan Robinson for a comment.
