A BASINGSTOKE preschool has made childcare free for key workers following the outbreak of the coronavirus.
Tiny Steps Preschool has remained open to care for the children of key workers after the advice given by the Prime Minister to close all schools across the UK.
Helen Heath, manager of Tiny Steps Preschool said: “We have been a little heartbroken by the thought of closing [because] we have one parent who is a nurse, [so] we knew we wanted to stay open for her and our more vulnerable parents.
“We felt like it just made sense for us to offer free childcare for any key worker parents who need it.
"We will offer as many spaces as we are able to, dependent on ratios."
Helen adds that the places will be handed out on a first-come-first-served basis, booked week by week.
