Police will be visiting farms across Basingstoke this week following a "recent increase of crime".

The team from Basingstoke Cops said the crimes include burglary, criminal damage and poaching and criminals are are targeting mechanical machinery and quad bikes.

"We will be offering crime prevention advice to keep all items securely locked away of an evening and keep an eye out for suspicious vehicles parked nearby," a post by Basingstoke Cops read.

"Rural crime can cost businesses thousands of pounds and in some cases have a significant economical effect on them with not only the loss of machinery, but the increase for all of us with insurance premiums too."

They then offered this advice about what you can do to help bring criminals to justice.
