PATIENTS at a Basingstoke GP practice have been warned about a possible smear test scam.
Camrose, Gillies and Hackwood Partnership has contacted its patients to let them know of the possible scam, where women have been contacted by text claiming they are overdue their smear test.
The message from the partnership said: “[We] will never ask you to call a mobile and provide personal details so please do not share them.”
The partnership told the Gazette it was not aware that any of its patients had been texted as part of the scam, but said that it had been informed about the matter as a “national alert”.
