TWO PEOPLE have been arrested after a suspected drug deal in Popley last night.
Hampshire Constabulary stopped a BMW that they believed were involved in the deal, which took place outside Abbey Road shops on Friday, June 26.
Cannabis, cocaine and a large amount of cash was found in the car, which was pulled over in a Sainsbury's car park.
Police then searched an address in Ferndown Close, Beggarwood.
One neighbour told the Gazette that she saw officers searching the property at around 9pm.
The two people arrested on suspicion with intent to supply are a 37-year-old woman and a 38-year-old man. They both remain in custody as investigations continue.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said: "Officers attended an address on Ferndown Close to conduct a search following an arrest yesterday evening (26 June).
"A BMW was stopped by officers after being involved in a suspected drug deal on Abbey Road shops, the vehicle was later stopped in a Sainsbury’s car park.
"A quantity of cannabis and cocaine was located in the vehicle with a large amount of cash.
"A 37-year-old woman and a 38-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply.
"They both remain in custody."
